How to become a pilot for Air Greenland

Special requirements from Air Greenland A/S
The training is managed by Air Greenland A/S, which selects candidates from those nominated by the Government of Greenland—taking into account the necessary qualifications and employment opportunities after graduation—who meet specific requirements.

Meets the conditions set by the Government of Greenland
If you wish to pursue the training, you can apply for special educational support. Among the requirements, you must be a Danish citizen and have had permanent residence in Greenland for at least 5 years, or have had permanent residence in Greenland for at least 10 years and no more than 3 years outside Greenland after turning 18, when applying.

Passes the entrance exam for the training program
Before admission, several tests must be completed and passed. The purpose of these tests is to assess the applicant's suitability for completing the training and for the professional role as a pilot.
A pilot's daily work consists of:

Planning and conducting route and charter flights. Checking the weather, ensuring the aircraft's weight and balance, etc.

Inspecting the aircraft to ensure it is fully airworthy, including calculating the correct amount of fuel for the flight.

Flying from point A to point B and ensuring that the flight is conducted at the highest possible level of safety.
