MPL - The direct path to a job in aviation

Multi-Crew Pilot Licence (MPL) Training Program

The Multi-Crew Pilot Licence (MPL) program at CAPA is a highly relevant alternative to the traditional ATPL training. The program is conducted in close collaboration with our partner airlines, SAS, and integrates airline-specific procedures and training requirements from day one, preparing you for a smooth transition into your future role as a co-pilot at an airline.

The program is tailored to meet the needs of each airline and includes real-world operations in the training schedule. Upon completion, candidates will be fully certified to work and operate as co-pilots on multi-crew commercial aircraft, in accordance with the host airline’s operational standards.

Admission Requirements

  • Minimum 18 years of age at the start of the course.
  • The right to live and work freely in the EU.
  • Good skills and understanding of mathematics, English, and science.
  • Fluent in English (both written and spoken).
  • Ability to obtain an EASA Class 1 Medical Certificate.

Course Structure

The MPL course consists of 750 hours of theoretical learning and 245+ hours of practical flight training, divided into four phases.

You will not receive a license to fly single-engine aircraft, but based on your training, you can choose to take a PPL exam afterwards at your own expense.

After Phase 2, candidates will undergo a final MPL evaluation:

  • If you pass, you will continue working with your host airline (SAS).
  • If you do not pass, you will transition to the standardized integrated ATPL training.
